Linear Fluorescent tubes are one of the most commonly used lighting options on the market today.  They come in many different sizes and shapes.  The most commonly used shapes are T2, T4, T5, T8, T10, and T12.  Fluorescent tubes require a specific ballast to operate and the ballast must state that it operates the specific bulb being used.
