The Area Lighting Research AA-105 is a line-voltage button-eye photocell designed to automatically control outdoor lighting from dusk to dawn. Operating on 120VAC electrical systems, the AA-105 supports connected lighting loads up to 1800 watts and includes a weatherproof mounting plate for convenient installation on building exteriors, decorative post lanterns, wall-mounted fixtures, and other outdoor lighting applications. Its compact button-eye design provides dependable photoelectric switching while maintaining a clean, low-profile appearance.

The AA-105 features a heavy-duty thermal switching mechanism with a built-in time delay that helps prevent nuisance cycling caused by lightning, vehicle headlights, or other temporary light sources. Rated for 1800 watts tungsten and 1100 VA ballast loads, it is suitable for controlling incandescent, HID, and other compatible outdoor luminaires. The weatherproof wall plate provides additional protection from moisture while simplifying installation on exposed exterior surfaces.

Designed for dependable long-term outdoor operation, the AA-105 utilizes a weather-resistant polycarbonate housing with a cadmium sulfide (CdS) light sensor for reliable dusk-to-dawn performance. The unit is UL Listed, CSA Certified, and designed for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential applications including porch lights, post lanterns, wall packs, security lighting, decorative fixtures, and building perimeter lighting.
