The Area Lighting Research PT-15 is a heavy-duty fixed-mount photocontrol designed to automatically control outdoor lighting from dusk to dawn. Engineered for 120VAC electrical systems, the PT-15 provides reliable automatic switching for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential lighting applications. Its rugged UV-resistant polycarbonate housing is built to withstand harsh outdoor environments while delivering dependable long-term performance.

The PT-15 features a heavy-duty SPST thermal bi-metal switch with an integrated 30 to 45 second time delay that minimizes nuisance switching caused by lightning, vehicle headlights, or other temporary light sources. Rated for up to 2,000 watts tungsten and 1,900 VA ballast loads, the photocontrol is compatible with incandescent, HID, and compact fluorescent luminaires. A factory-calibrated turn-on level of 1.5 foot-candles with a 5:1 OFF/ON ratio provides consistent and dependable dusk-to-dawn operation.

Designed for maintenance-free outdoor operation, the PT-15 incorporates a fail-ON design, cadmium sulfide (CdS) light sensor, weather-resistant construction, and operates reliably in temperatures from -40°C to +65°C. The photocontrol is UL Listed and designed to meet ANSI C136.10 enclosure requirements, making it ideal for parking lot lighting, security lighting, flood lights, signage, building exteriors, and general outdoor lighting installations.
