The Area Lighting Research SPT-15 is a heavy-duty photocontrol designed to automatically switch outdoor lighting from dusk to dawn. Featuring an adjustable swivel base, the SPT-15 allows installers to precisely position the photocell away from unwanted light sources, providing dependable operation while minimizing false switching caused by nearby luminaires or ambient lighting. Its durable non-metallic polycarbonate housing is engineered for long-term outdoor performance in commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

Operating on 120VAC, the SPT-15 incorporates a heavy-duty thermal bi-metal switch with a built-in 30 to 45 second time delay that virtually eliminates nuisance cycling caused by lightning, vehicle headlights, or other sudden changes in ambient light. The control is rated for up to 2,000 watts tungsten and 1,900 VA ballast loads, making it suitable for controlling incandescent, HID, and compact fluorescent lighting systems. A factory-set 1.5 foot-candle turn-on level with a 5:1 OFF/ON ratio provides reliable dusk-to-dawn operation.

Designed for years of dependable outdoor service, the SPT-15 features a fail-ON design, UV-resistant polycarbonate housing, cadmium sulfide (CdS) light sensor, and weather-resistant construction. The photocontrol is UL Listed and designed to meet ANSI C136.10 enclosure requirements, making it an excellent solution for parking lot lighting, security lighting, flood lights, billboard lighting, building exteriors, and other outdoor lighting installations.
