The Plusrite 7259 BALU400-HX/V4 is a 400-watt magnetic high pressure sodium ballast kit designed to operate ANSI S51 high pressure sodium lamps. Featuring four-tap 120/208/240/277V input capability, a Constant Wattage Autotransformer (CWA) circuit type, and a complete pre-wired component kit, this ballast delivers dependable starting and operating performance for commercial, industrial, and outdoor HID lighting systems.
This ballast kit is engineered for multi-voltage installations and includes the ballast, oil-filled capacitor, ignitor, mounting bracket, and wiring components required for high pressure sodium lamp operation. Its CWA design provides stable lamp output, high power factor operation, and dependable compatibility with ANSI S51 high pressure sodium lighting systems.
Operating from 120/208/240/277V input, the ballast consumes 460 input watts with maximum line currents of 3.80A (120V), 2.20A (208V), 1.90A (240V), and 1.70A (277V). The ballast measures 2.75 × 4.65 inches, weighs 14.0 lbs, utilizes coil temperature code C/C/D/C, requires a 55µF / 240V minimum capacitor, and uses wiring diagram E-V4.
