Sensata RP-4A Thermal Protector Low Sensitivity 3 Wire for Dedicated Voltage

The Sensata RP-4A Thermal Protector is a low-sensitivity automatic-reset thermal protector designed to protect non-IC recessed lighting fixtures operating on dedicated 277V systems. Engineered to meet UL, CSA, and NEC requirements, the RP-4A monitors fixture temperatures and responds to overheating caused by insulation contact or abnormal operating conditions. When excessive heat is detected, the protector interrupts power to the fixture and automatically resets after cooling, providing dependable thermal protection while allowing the lighting fixture to resume normal operation.

Designed specifically for dedicated-voltage lighting applications, the RP-4A features a compact three-wire configuration with black, white, and red leads. The red and white wires form the 277V heater circuit, while the black and red wires serve as the thermal protection circuit. Its compact cylindrical housing and spring-steel mounting clip allow quick installation into recessed lighting fixtures while delivering reliable long-term protection for dedicated-voltage ballast systems.
