High Pressure Sodium Bulbs

High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) Bulbs are high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps known for their high efficiency and long lifespan, commonly used in street lighting, parking lots, warehouses, and industrial applications. Emitting a warm, amber-colored light (typically 2000K-2500K), HPS bulbs provide strong lumen output but have poor color rendering, making them less suitable for applications requiring high visibility and color accuracy. They operate using a ballast and an arc tube filled with sodium vapor, mercury, and xenon gas, producing light through an electrical discharge process. While more energy-efficient than mercury vapor lamps, HPS bulbs are gradually being replaced by LED technology, which offers better color rendering, instant-on capabilities, and higher energy savings without the need for ballasts or frequent maintenance.
